Rick Grigsby, M.Sc
Co-Founder – Chief Operations Officer
Rick attended Brigham Young University and obtained both a Bachelors and Masters Degree from the Department of Microbiology. His major fields of study include immunology, bacteriology, virology, and molecular biology. As part of his core curriculum he was required to present his research to internal and external peers alike. His efforts led to 20 peer reviewed articles and abstracts that were a direct result of his research concerning breast cancer and the effect of immune function in autoimmune disease. He has taken part in human clinical studies and developed monoclonal antibodies that would detect certain enzymes which were indicative of malignant growth and/or recurrence. In addition, he has presented at several prestigious conferences and also lectured at Brigham Young University and Utah Valley State College; both entry and advanced graduate level courses.
Upon matriculation, his interest in disease prevention drew him to the dietary supplement industry. During his career, he has served in various capacities and functions including quality assurance, research and development, manufacturing, and operations. Other areas of expertise include auditing, regulatory and international registration of products, and selection of quality manufacturers. From product safety to assurance of efficacy, he has been instrumental in helping companies achieve success at every level. In addition, his leadership skills were recognized by executive management and he took an active role in the critical areas of quality assurance and operations.
From bench top to executive management, he has kept a keen interest in the holistic approach to healing and wellness as it relates to our industry.
Robert E. Bailey, Ph.D.
Co-Founder – Chief Science Officer
Dr. Bailey is a professor of biology at Central Michigan University where he has taught a full-range of biology classes for the past 36 years; these classes range from introductory biology to graduate-level classes in conservation biology and biological statistics as well as several specialty courses in environmental risk assessment and toxicology. He earned his Ph.D. in ecology and limnology from Indiana University, an MS in botany and glacial geology from the University of Michigan, and a BA in biology and chemistry from Eastern Michigan University. Over the past decade, his research interests have centered on the effects of exposure to a variety of environmental contaminants on human health. Dr. Bailey has published scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research findings at a number of national and several international conferences.
In the mid-1980s, while maintaining his full-time academic billet, Dr. Bailey was presented the opportunity to develop an environmental, health and safety consulting firm. This company grew to more than 100 employees, with 6 regional offices (including two state-of-the-art chemical analytical laboratories) and more than $5 million in annual sales. During this time, Dr. Bailey developed a keen interest in environmental risk assessment and the toxicological/environmental impacts of chemical exposures to the human population. In addition, he developed a special interest in overall health and well-being, due in part to a family history of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. In this context, he is an active participant in conceptualizing and formulating many of BinVita’s products.
It is Dr. Bailey’s unique blend of expertise and leadership abilities that position him to make BinVita one of the premier health empowerment companies on a global scale.
